Hilary Damaser
Meet
Hilary Damaser is a dedicated public servant, attorney, and longtime Dublin resident running for Washington Township Trustee to ensure thoughtful, transparent, and community-centered leadership. With over 30 years of legal experience serving the people of Ohio, Hilary brings a proven track record of ethical decision-making, collaboration, and deep knowledge of how government works.
Throughout her career as an Assistant Attorney General, Hilary has represented dozens of Ohio’s state agencies—ranging from the State Fire Marshal to the Ohio Ethics Commission—helping uphold regulations, enforce public safety standards, and support good governance. Her legal work has taken her into courtrooms across the state, where she has argued complex cases with clarity, professionalism, and respect for the rule of law.
Hilary’s commitment to service goes beyond the courtroom. She has long believed in the importance of strengthening communities from the ground up. She currently serves on the City of Dublin’s Architectural Review Board, where she helps guide responsible development and preservation in one of Central Ohio’s most vibrant suburbs. She is also deeply involved with the Ohio State Bar Foundation, where she works to expand access to justice and support underserved communities across the state.
Hilary’s dedication to public service is deeply rooted in her upbringing. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Yellow Springs, Ohio, she grew up surrounded by progressive values, social awareness, and a belief in the promise of American democracy. Her parents—an English professor and a clinical psychologist—encouraged critical thinking, compassion, and civic responsibility. Family trips to Native American reservations, civil rights landmarks, and Washington, D.C., helped shape her understanding of equity, culture, and government.
Hilary lives in Dublin with her husband, Ryan Oyster, and their two sons, both students in Dublin City Schools. As a parent, neighbor, and civic leader, Hilary understands the importance of public safety, responsive local government, and protecting the quality of life that makes Washington Township such a special place to live.
Today, Hilary continues to mentor young attorneys, promote professional ethics, and volunteer with local organizations—from food pantries to outdoor education programs. She believes that government works best when it reflects the values of the community it serves: fairness, integrity, inclusion, and forward-thinking solutions.
